Job Introduction

The Opportunity

 

The People Development Manager will lead the coordination, delivery and continuous improvement of Learning & Development across the UK business. The role is responsible for building practical, engaging and measurable learning solutions that support employee development, manager capability, operational performance and delivery against business goals and client KPIs. This is a home-based role with occasional travel to Watford office & national meetings as required.

 

This role combines hands-on delivery with strategic support across: 

  • Learning & Development 
  • Instructional Design 
  • Digital Learning Platforms 
  • Manager Development, Facilitation & Coaching
  • Performance & Competency Frameworks 
  • Learning Operations & Reporting 

 

The role supports manager effectiveness, field team capability, employee onboarding and client-specific training initiatives. The PDM works closely with department heads, Managers, HR and client account teams to ensure learning initiatives are relevant, scalable and commercially effective.

 

The Role

 

Learning & Development (L&D)

  • Develop and deliver L&D plans aligned to business priorities and operational needs 
  • Build structured learning programmes including onboarding, manager development and role-based capability pathways 
  • Support a consistent and high-quality approach to learning across all departments 
  • Identify skills gaps and development opportunities through collaboration with managers and stakeholders 
  • Support the continuous improvement of learning provision across the business 

Instructional Design & Digital Learning

  • Design engaging learning solutions using a blend of workshops, webinars, e-learning, toolkits and practical resources 
  • Create structured learning journeys that support long-term capability development 
  • Develop digital learning content using platforms such as LMS365, Articulate Rise 360 & Synthesia
  • Ensure learning content is clear, practical, relevant and aligned to company values and competency frameworks 
  • Explore and introduce new learning approaches and technologies where they add value 

Learning Platforms & Reporting

  • Lead the ongoing administration, management and continuous improvement of the Learning Management System (LMS) 
  • Manage learner enrolment, training pathways, completion tracking and reporting 
  • Monitor learning engagement, completion and effectiveness using reporting and analysis tools 
  • Provide regular updates and insight to stakeholders and senior leaders 

Performance & Manager Development

  • Support the development and embedding of competency and performance frameworks across the business 
  • Work with managers to strengthen: One-to-ones, Performance reviews, Coaching conversations & Development planning 
  • Support managers in creating effective onboarding and probation experiences for new starters 
  • Help ensure learning initiatives support measurable improvements in capability and performance through learning pathways that support behaviour change

Facilitation & Stakeholder Support

  • Deliver engaging virtual and face-to-face training sessions 
  • Facilitate workshops, webinars and “train the trainer” sessions 
  • Work closely with department leaders and managers to identify and support learning needs 
  • Provide guidance and support on training, development and learning approaches 
  • Work with managers and client account teams to ensure learning initiatives support operational objectives and client KPI performance expectations

What are we looking for

 

Essential:

  • Experience within a Learning & Development, People Development or Training role 
  • Experience designing structured learning solutions and development programmes 
  • Experience delivering training both virtually and face-to-face 
  • Experience supporting manager development or performance frameworks 
  • Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Comfortable using data and reporting to review learning effectiveness 
  • Self-motivated with a proactive and practical approach 

 

Desirable:

  • Experience using digital learning platforms and tools such as LMS365, Articulate Rise 360, Synthesia or similar platforms
  • Experience within a client-facing, operational or multi-market environment 
  • Experience using AI tools to support content creation or learning delivery 
  • Experience working with competency frameworks or structured development pathways
